ABOUT ME

My name is Sonia, and I’m the person behind every Kimya piece.

For more than 15 years, I’ve been designing and handcrafting jewelry in my studio. My training at the Escuela de Joyería nº 3 in Madrid was the beginning of a journey that has led me to explore materials, techniques, and forms. I have a constant need to create from different perspectives. I’m not interested in repeating what works, but in being moved by what I create and feeling that what I make has meaning for me.

Kimya means alchemy: the transformation of matter into something new, something that changes us. That idea is present in everything I create. I live by the Mediterranean, and the light that surrounds me finds its way into my jewelry. Sculptural and organic forms, texture, colour, and every form of art are part of what inspires me.

I love creating jewelry for women who are guided by what they feel, who find beauty in authenticity, and choose pieces that speak about who they are rather than following trends.

Every piece is designed and handcrafted to become more than an ornament. A piece that stays with you, connects with you, and becomes part of your story.
